The Illinois Eye-Bank is a 501(c)(3), independent, not-for-profit organization dedicated to the restoration of sight. It is a division of Midwest Eye-Banks. Through our Illinois Eye-Bank facility in Chicago and our Illinois Eye-Bank, Watson Gailey facility in Bloomington, we recover, evaluate and distribute human eye tissue for transplantation, as well as for research and training purposes. Our Eye and Vision Research Program provides funding to support research into the causes and cures of blinding eye conditions. Public and professional education programs, coupled with community outreach efforts, connect us with communities and with our constituents. We strive to educate the public about the ongoing need for eye, organ and tissue donors, and facilitate the work of healthcare professionals involved in the process.
