Peter Latz, Board Chair
Principal, Peter J. Latz and Associates
Peter is a Chicago attorney whose specialties include estate planning, trust administration, estate administration, taxation and real estate. He represents individuals and institutions in handling all aspects of trust and estate administration. Before forming his own law firm in 1989, Peter worked in the fiduciary tax department and estate settlement division of the First National Bank of Chicago. He served as a trust officer for First United Trust Company, and has been an instructor at the American Institute of Banking. Peter served as the Chairman of the Board for Midwest Eye-Banks and is a Board member for the Illinois Society for the Prevention of Blindness. Peter received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from DePaul University and his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School. Peter is a guest lecturer at The John Marshall Law School Center for Tax Law.


Randy Epstein, M.D., Board Vice Chair
Chief Executive Officer, Chicago Cornea Consultants, Ltd.
Dr. Epstein received his M.D. from Rush Medical College and completed an internship and ophthalmology residency at Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke’s Medical Center in Chicago. Dr. Epstein is on the faculty at Rush University Medical Center, holding the title of Professor of Medicine, Dept. of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Medical Association, the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery, the Illinois Association of Ophthalmology, the Ocular Microbiology and Immunology Group, and the International Society of Refractive Surgery/American Academy of Ophthalmology (ISRS/AAO). Dr. Epstein has served as an active member of the Illinois Eye-Bank’s Advisory Council for many years, having previously chaired the Annual Golf Outing.


Frank Saporito, Board Treasurer
Managing Director, U.S. Bank N.A.
Frank has been in banking since 1979 and is a graduate of Loyola University of Chicago and the Northern Illinois University College of Law. He started his career with the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago and is currently a Managing Director in the Wealth Management – Personal Trust Division of U.S. Bank. He is an active member of the Illinois Advisory Council, Italian Cultural Center, and the Lions Club of Addison, Illinois.


David Donnersberger, M.D., J.D., Board Secretary
LMDK, Internal Medicine Physician
Dr. Donnersberger is an internal medicine physician in Winnetka, Illinois. He is a Co-Director at Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine, Evanston Northwestern Healthcare and a Moderator of the Internal Medicine Residency Ethics Program. Dr. Donnersberger is on staff at Evanston Northwestern Healthcare. He received his undergraduate degree from Indiana University, Masters from DePaul University and his medical and law degrees from Southern Illinois University School of Medicine and School of Law. Dr. Donnersberger was an Intern at Yale University and a Resident of Internal Medicine at Northwestern University. He is a member of the Clerkship Directors in Internal Medicine and the American College of Physicians. He is an active supporter of the Illinois Eye-Bank and has co-chaired its annual Gift of Sight Gala.

Gerald D. Bouey
Managing Director, TBG Leadership Consulting
In addition to his work with TBG, Gerry is an adjunct professor at Lewis University and Columbia College, Chicago. He is a corporate-level coach with more than 35 years' experience in business, consulting, improvement efforts and leadership development with senior and mid-level management. He spent years with JP Morgan, where held several key management positions. Gerry is a cornea transplant recipient, an Illinois Eye-Bank Ambassador, a member of the Illinois Advisory Council and served on Midwest Eye-Banks' Board of Directors. He is an officer and active member of the Plainfield Lions Club.


Edward Hunter
Vice President, Mission Services, Provena Saint Joseph Hospital
Ed has served as Chaplain of Provena Saint Joseph Hospital for 22 years, and most recently as Vice President of Missions Services. Ed is certified by the National Association of Catholic Chaplains and endorsed by the Diocese of Rockford. He received his BA in Philosophy at St. Mary’s Seminary in Baltimore, Maryland, where he continued graduate studies in theology. He completed his Clinical Pastoral Education internship at Children’s Memorial in Chicago. Throughout this time, Ed has been committed to a comprehensive and holistic approach to ministry, embracing body, mind and spirit. He is a founding board member of the Greater Elgin Family Care Center, serves on the Illinois Eye-Bank's Advisory Council, is a volunteer chaplain for Fox Valley Hospice and is a member of the Northern Illinois Critical Incident Debriefing team.


Franco S. La Marca
Investment Advisor, Morgan Stanley Smith Barney
A former attorney, Franco received his law degree from John Marshall Law School, and he studied international law at the University of Sydney, in Australia. He also spent two years studying international relations at Waseda University, in Tokyo, Japan. During his time in Asia, Franco worked as a television personality, filming segments for MTV Japan, NHK and Television Studio Alta. In 1997, he attended the official Hand-Over Ceremonies in Hong Kong, and was present at the premiere of Yo-Yo Ma’s Symphony 97. He is passionate about world travel and fitness. In addition to founding the Illinois Eye-Bank Ambassadors for Vision Council, Franco is a devoted supporter of other charitable causes, such as the Make-A-Wish Foundation. He also sits on the alumni board for Lake Forest College, his Alma Mater.


Karen Magers
Director, Bloomington Eye Institute
Karen, a registered nurse with more than 25 years of experience in Ophthalmology and related areas, currently serves as the Director of the Bloomington Eye Institute. She is a graduate of the Mennonite Hospital School of Nursing and has taken numerous Continuing Education Units at Illinois State University. In addition to the Illinois Eye-Bank, Karen is involved with other charitable organizations, including the American Red Cross.


Charles J. Pivoney
Chief Operating Officer, Midwest Eye-Banks
Charles provides leadership and direction for clinical and community programs corporately, and at each Midwest Eye-Banks subsidiary. He began his career in eye banking more than 25 years ago as a Technical Coordinator for the Illinois Eye-Bank and has since held several positions there, including Laboratory Supervisor and Administrator. He serves on the Advisory Council for the Gift of Hope Organ & Tissue Donor Network, is a charter member of Donate Life Illinois, and has been a member of the Illinois Secretary of State Organ & Tissue Donor Advisory Council and Illinois Department of Health Task Force on Transplantation. He holds a Master’s degree in Business Administration from Keller Graduate School of Management, Chicago, and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology from Northeastern Illinois University. He has served on the Board of the Eye Bank Association of America (EBAA), as well as several EBAA committees.

In addition to his career accomplishments, Charles is a certified youth sports coach and member of the Tinley Park Lions Club.


Mark Singler
Partner, Peter J. Latz and Associates
Mark is a Chicago-area attorney who concentrates his practice in the areas of estate planning, trust administration, estate administration and real estate. Mark received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Iowa and his Juris Doctor from The John Marshall Law School. As a member of the Illinois Advisory Council, Mark has devoted his time, energy and enthusiasm to the Eye-Bank’s mission to restore sight.


Morgan Stogsdill
Attorney, Beerman Swerdlove
Morgan Stogsdill is a Family Law attorney at the law firm of Beermann Swerdlove. She has been named a Rising Star in the area of Family Law by SuperLawyers Magazines for the past two years, and prior to joining Beermann Swerdlove, had the 3rd most jury verdicts in Cook County. She is a member of Beermann Swerdlove’s Sports and Entertainment Family Law Division. In addition to being an attorney, Stogsdill sits on the Auxiliary Board of Northwestern Memorial Hospital.


Maureen Ann Tuffy- Haga
Principal, M2Execution
Maureen has more than two decades of experience in sales performance development, change management, leadership and business development. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education at Illinois State University, and a Master of Science in Adult Corporate Instruction Management and Organizational Development at Loyola University of Chicago. Maureen is active in numerous civic organizations, including Boy Scouts of America and Special Needs Students Parent Support Group, and is a youth minister leader.


Diane M. Hollingsworth
Executive Director
Diane has been with the Eye-Bank since August 2010, after eight years at the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois, where she served as Director of Medical Education. She also spent 20 years in senior sales and marketing management positions at IBM, Siemens and Rockwell. She has a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration from Western Michigan University. Diane is an active volunteer for the National Kidney Foundation of Illinois and a member of the Naperville Noon Lions Club.
